Earlier this month, we announced a company wide contest giving our employees the opportunity to express their holiday cheer by decorating their work space…for cash prizes! Immediately, the ideas starting flowing, and words of friendly competition were in the air! Over the course of several days, we had a lot of fun, and a lot of laughs. We even made the Eagle Times-twice!
We asked our friends at Lake Sunapee Bank if they would be a neutral party and judge the entries. A big thanks to Brandy Blackinton and Jessica Walker for taking the time out of their day to come visit! (They mentioned afterwards that they were expecting to see a couple of decorated cubicles and be on their way…boy were they wrong!)
Everyone was a winner, so here’s the holiday break down!
With the largest Christmas tree in the building, Top Line Design team took one of the $25-per-team-member-prizes. Their category? “Crunchiest Tree!”
It was decorated with chili cheese Fritos and barbecue chips…hmmm, we’re getting hungry now!
Classic Design Team grabbed another of the $25 prizes for “Best Team Description!”
The Checking/Finishing team went home with the $25 award for “Cutest Christmas!”
The “Best Crown Point Tree” $25 prize went to QCT Team, who handcrafted this beautiful tree from scrap wood.
These charming fellas also got “Best Bribe” as they gave each judge a box of chocolates…yum!
The lovely ladies on the Farrow & Ball Team put a lot of thought into their decorations, and dedicated their space to a member of their team who recently passed away. Fittingly, they received the honor of “Most Sentimental Christmas.”
Snowflakes, ice skates and an old fashioned runner sled evoked winter and holiday memories for all that walked through the front entryway decorated by the office ladies.
In the category of “Most Classic Christmas,” each of them took home $50.
Wearing red, and looking proud of all their hard work, the Sales Support Team received the $50 prize for “Just Like Home!”
In no particular order, the next five teams scored the “Top Five” rankings for $75 a piece.
Maintenance received the Top Five honor of “Most Deserving of an Academy Award” for their video that hilariously chronicled their quest to win this contest.
They certainly got the judges laughing!
The Ground Floor Design Team nabbed another of the Top Five prizes. Santa was a big hit, as were the homemade “Naughty” and “Nice” photo op ginger bread men.
The next Top Five prize went to MTA-the Assembly Team. Make note of the handcrafted mantle and Santa’s boots hanging down from within the chimney.
The Management Team also won a Top Five prize, with their colorful interpretation of “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
Door Team went all out, with a Santa and sleigh and much much more. They definitely deserved the Top Five finish!
Another view of Door Team’s decorations.
And now for the Grand Prize of $100 per team member; the “Most Creative” decorations go to Shipping, Receiving and Purchasing for their impressive manger scene! Well done, guys!
The contest was a huge success, bringing good cheer and lots of laughs to everyone who participated. It was such a blast that some are already planning for next year! Who knows what we’ll come up with by then?
Thanks for checking in, enjoy the holidays!
